Hey Agents,
I have been frequenting the Agent server recently as I have just gotten back into Dystopia after a year not playing. I have enjoyed playing on your server and have talked strategy with many of your members during matches.
However, tonight when I logged into the server to play a Steam update had set everyones profiles back to defaults. This left me as an "unnamed" player and nullified all of my custom settings. I managed to get my bearings quite quickly and realized what was happening. There was another unnamed on the server at that time with a with the default (1) on their name. This player apparently had no idea what was going on. The whole team was getting upset at this person and called a vote kick. Just as I managed to change my name, people started to realize that there were two unnamed players. Someone even said "I think we voted the wrong one" and "I noticed there were two unnameds just a second ago." I was desperately typing in chat that it was me Spaceballs and not to kick me off. However, the vote went though right after that.
Please check through your logs and/or ask around about me. Any of the Dystopia regulars should attest that I am a legitimate player who enjoys the competitiveness of this game and have had a blast since coming back. I would appreciate it if you could unban me from the server as it was a mistaken vote due to the chaos of this update.

On a different note, why are people so harsh to new players? Not saying that you are new, but if the guy didn't know what he was doing, why didn't anyone help him? |

| Eh, part of the reason why Dystopia has so few players. Sadly we (even myself included during the past) Dystopian players are unusually harsh upon new players. Why else does everyone in Dystopia know each other so well? lol |

Sorry about that, as Loki says, it should be temporary.
It is weird a lot of folks said people were really helpful to noobs when I started a few weeks ago, but I haven't seen that asside from my Clanmates and a coulpe others. Plus the game itself is pretty nebulous until you get used to the maps at least; let alone all the settings. |

HAI everyone! i figured i should check the forums so you could all see 1) how i reply to posts (yeah yeah im more cheary) and 2) this post caught my eye, so i could tell you all what i think about the "not helping noobs" part.
i was a tad bit harsh on this unnamed guy, earlier tonight, but i DID get tked by em like.... 5 times? i was Laser Rifle'ing in Inject (first objective) when a random rocket shot me from my little hiding space that came from MY TEAM! i was like WTF dude, put down the rocket launcher and use bullets not explosives.
well anyway... i noticed people are a tad bit harsh on noobs, when i find someone that is 1)lost 2) doesnt know what to do 3) doesnt realize that when he is on RED you shoot the BLUE team. for the first, i explain to em, that the blue circle, oval/ orb/ WHATEVER that thing is that floats on your hud, you are supposed to go TO that objective, and it makes it a hellofa lot easier to get a hold on whats happening. for the second, i reccomend to use something easy to handle, like the shotgun or the Assault Rifle, and to pick up a mediplant or a tacscan, it makes it a helofa lot easier to shoot the CORRECT team, and clear enemies out (even if you only take down 1 or 2 guys every 5 spawns you are still doing quite well). after i explain that, i go further into the fundementals of those 2 weapons (not very deep, because then people dont understand what i am even talking about). but i tell em about the zoom shot in the assault rifle seccondary and the double-barrel-buck shot seccondary. after that i explain that their HUD (if anyone is confused about the HUD, its the Heads Up Display that is on your screen that shows your objectives, health, armor, energy, etc) and i show them that i am either blue or red (whichever team it is) and you shoot the other team, so if you are red you shoot blue, if you shoot blue and your on blue, your team WILL GET ANGRY AT YOU AND SAY OH NOES YOU SHOULDNT BE DOIN THAT. well anyway. i thought i should share that bit of info with you all. |
